Donal Cox began his career training and working at the Abbey Theatre Dublin followed by the Dublin Gate Theatre. He has since appeared in London’s West End theatres and in numerous productions featuring the work of Irish writers; on RTE, Donal has appeared in both classical and modern dramas and as a presenter in the Irish language. In the UK he has played leading and featured roles in TV and feature films; recent screen appearances include the film Round Ireland with a Fridge, the Ricky Gervais TV series Life’s Too Short, the 2014 feature film The Double, (dir Richard Ayoade) and TV drama-documentary Raiders of the Lost Art: Hitler’s Dealer screened on Sky Arts. Donal also voiced the recent “Scrabble” Anagram commercial that was featured on Times online. Donal is co-artistic director of Fifth Province Productions under whose banner he continues to tour his original solo shows Journey to The Fifth Province and Yeats by Lightning.
