Stephanie Van Driesen

Description

Stephanie was born in Malaysia into a multicultural family; British-Thai-Chinese mother, and Dutch-Portuguese-Sri-Lankan father. Surrounded by books and stories from a young age, she found herself memorizing Disney movie scripts and frequently mimicking the voices of cartoons on TV.

Stephanie started out in professional voice over at the age of 13, following in her father’s footsteps. She recorded mainly English language educational recordings (audio CDs for student textbooks and workbooks) for private publishing companies in Malaysia. In her early 20’s, she was a regular speaking and singing voice for jingles, Radio & TV adverts, corporate explainer videos, and film soundtracks. Her previous clients include: Giordano, Jacob’s, OXY, Pantene, LG, Head and Shoulders, Honor, Singapore Management University, Epomania, Ola Bola! The Movie.

An avid Disney fan, it was a dream come true when Stephanie was cast as the Malay language singing voice of Rapunzel in the “Tangled: The TV Series’ Season 1 for Disney Asia (2017), before moving to London. She also voiced the main character of “Honey” and several others (English language dubbing) on 2 seasons of the animation series “Bodhi & Friends” for the China market.

Highly skilled accents: general American, standard English, Irish, Australian, French, Russian, Indian (South Asian), Singaporean, Malaysian.

Languages: English, Malay.

Stephanie holds a BA in Musical Theatre from LaSalle College of the Arts Singapore, and an MFA in Acting from East 15 Acting School. She is also an Arts Council England recognised exceptional Global Talent.

Since signing with Soho Voices in 2019, she has successfully been booked for work in both English and Malay for clients such as Refinitiv, Langland Healthcare, Havas Lynx, Panadol, Biogen, and DiDi.

On her bucket list, Stephanie would like to voice audiobooks, narrate documentaries, and have a lot of fun voicing animation and gaming characters!
