Description
Hailing from Malaysia and of Chinese ethnicity, Sam is currently recognised as one of Malaysia’s Top 10 Most Outstanding Voice Talents. What started as a fun side hustle became a full-time career for her right at the start of Covid-19. Since then, she has voiced for numerous renowned brands, including an international campaign for Google.
Sam’s signature accent — the “Transatlantic-Asian” accent — reflects her cross-cultural experiences, shaped by years living in Malaysia, studying in the UK, training in American accent work, and her Chinese heritage.
Fluent in English, Mandarin, Malay and conversational Spanish, Sam’s versatility spans accents, emotional expression, and vocal styles, bringing countless characters to life—from children in eLearning projects and psychotic patients in a VR simulations, to heroes in video games such as Honor of Kings and Reverse: 1999.
Her work also extends into award-winning audio dramas like The White Vault and Dark Dice, where she voiced alongside LilyPichu and Eric Nelsen. Her narration in The Boar Knight has earned her the Richard Nadolny Award for Excellence in Narration.
Beyond the booth, Sam teaches private classes and workshops, helping others rediscover the joy of uninhibited expression. She also provides live English-Chinese interpretation and frequently supports as an assistant director. She hopes to one day narrate for National Geographic, and ends most days hoping to dream of her shih-tzu, Ocean.
